Simply, there is such a vast assortment of Stuff that is out there to buy for babies, that I didn’t know what I needed and what I didn’t.
My oldest daughter, Leilah absolutely LOVES cooking. Whether it’s helping me in the kitchen, or pretending in her own kitchen with play food, she is a little chef. I love her interest in cooking and always wanting to be involved, so I try to find ways to let her help and get a little messy along the way.
So, this is unlike the rest of my posts. I usually tend to stick to family, tips, or lifestyle type things. But, I thought it would be fun to look back on some interesting facts people may not know about me. A little “get to know me” type of post. Some of my closest friends may not even know some of these little facts. So enjoy a little peek into my weirdness.
For quite some time, Leilah has been an extremely picky eater. I know that a majority of kids go through this at some point in their lives. It is a part of becoming more independent and wanting to be in control. I am totally all for her trying out her independence and learning to do things on her own. But, when it comes to her having bad eating habits, I want to do do whatever I can to prevent it.
As I sit here, exhausted, still waiting for my toddler to fall asleep, while my 5 month old just woke up after taking an hour to get her to sleep, trying to spend what little time that is left in the day with my husband, I can’t help but feel defeated.
My kiddos are polar opposites when it comes to a lot of things. But, I had a really rough time with Leilah in the early days. She was very colicky and difficult to soothe. These are my methods and products I have come to value the most after dealing with her cranky, newborn butt. 😉
Anyone with kids knows the struggle. You have a count down in your head until bedtime so you can finally have that alone time. You’ve kept the kids alive another day. You want to check out and do your own thing. We’ve all been there.
Flash back time! I’m writing this experience probably for more of a record to myself. Since it has only been two and a half years, it’s still fresh-ish in my memory.
Since having my second baby I have really started to make an effort to put my face on a majority of the time. I feel neater, less sloppy, and like myself if I have a little bit of makeup on. It makes me feel just slightly more polished. So, I like to take about 5 minutes after I shower to get beautified, and go on with my day!
I was determined to breastfeed my babies as long as it was working for our family. If I was happy and baby was happy, then we were going to keep on trucking!
